This is definitely an exaggeration. Lemon laws would have kicked in. In Louisiana, it's a new vehicle being out of service for 45 consecutive days.

No exaggeration at all. Another superintendent with us had the small 3.0 Duramax in a chevy that was down 3 or 4 month last year with a fuel pump. Now that one is a fricking idiot and a-hole to boot so I don't give a shite about him on that. He also had it down a couple months replacing other shite after he put DEF in the fuel tank and clogged everything up again.

The problem here were the chargers or lack there if. The Tesla charging network is a lot better and more reliable. More stations are needed though.

EVs have a time and place. Cross country trips aren’t one of them.

Yeah..unless you lead a very specific lifestyle they don't make sense for a lot of people. And even then it's probably good to own one ICE vehicle for road trips.

No ICE vehicle has ever broke down and ruined a cross country vacation

Except the EV performed properly and still couldn’t do it

I tried pointing out just how poor of a comparison it was but then he just shifted into something else.

It absolutely could have done it if the guy had stopped in a city to charge instead of tryin to charge his EV in a town with a population under 7k.

I never said the EV broke down. The article blamed the car for the guys road trip being ended (headline is "Man forced to ditch Ford EV truck during family road trip to Chicago:") . Are you arguing that no ICE car ever ended a road trip?

This was a case of operator error (if it really happened) and the story is full of holes like Elk River only having 1 charge station when you can see there are 3 different ones online

Never experienced a dead alternator?
once in 43 years on the road. Bought an alternator and swapped it in the parking lot of auto zone. Down time about 20 mins.

I despise people like this.

Just because you made a bad decision don't go whining that the government needs to help. And of course there is probably some ahole government official who loves to hear that.
