That's antiquity level stupid there.
An ancient era human can away with doing that without shame. Folks have eaten honey-bee hives since there before there was civilization. Excellent source of nutrition and character building opportunity.
It would be valid to consider any person eating a wasp or hornet nest anytime before 500 BC to be an adventurous foody. Vespoids milk the same flowers as honey bees, and they store in a hexagonal cells the same way.
By 250 BC, it was well understood that wasp honey was not just spicy honey with more protein. People dumb enough to get high after eating mad honey were ridiculed for being jack asses.
Ergo, the wasp nest itself contains a retarded behavior inducing agent.
