Corner of Elysian Fields and 610.

There is an African American lady out there almost every day with about 5-6 chirruns out panhandling. They have different "uniforms" (they aren't even uniforms, they are just clothes that look vaguely like a cheerleader or something would wear) for different days of the week. They are "raising money for their team", different teams every week.

Funny stuff. Obviously its lucrative. We are talking like kids ranging from like 6 walking in a 3 lane street to 14ish.

This shite infuriates me so much. Poor kids are out there in the hot arse sun begging for money instead of being a kid and having fun. And the parent/supervisor is always sitting in a chair playing on their phone not not giving a shite about the kids safety at all. If your sports team or dance group wants to raise some money, sell baked goods, wash cars, mow lawns, etc.

There's a new one at the corner of Gentilly Blvd. and Franklin Avenue. There's at least two kids out there with vests on selling "king size" candy packs and water while this stupid bitch sits under a tree. It takes a lot for me not to stop by her and say something each time I pass there.

I went to Lafeyette last week and there were so many fricking hobos. And they were much more ballsy that BR hobos, they come right up to you multiple times to ask for money and do it in packs

Made the mistake of parking in a parking garage and one guy kept circling while I'm saying goodbye to the girl I went to see out there, the dude bangs on the window, and she gives him a few dollars "for the bus" then he proceeds to go UP the ramp and then a little while later he's waiting outside our car again for us to get out the car

I got into my car while ignoring him and he starts trying to grab my window as I'm driving off. The girl is not as good at ignoring as I am and he grabs onto her car and gets more money out of her. I waited back to make sure nothing happened.

I don't ever give money to them, and cockblockibg the shite out of me isn't the way to get me to do it

The old tv show 20/20 did a segment on a guy who had a begging spot in Manhattan. On weekends, Atlantic City casinos would send a car to pick him up to stay in a comped room based on the amount of cash he gambled.

My roommates and I would stand on corners on some weekends. The 3 of us would take one car and get dropped off.

We would literally make enough to cover the months rent on one weekend. Not that we couldn't afford it as we all had jobs, but i mean why not save on that cash when it is that easy to make on a corner for one weekend a month. This story is a lie and i hope it made someone salty up until this sentence.

Another that pisses me off is the lady in front of Costco who has been pregnant now for well over a year.

I honestly think it may be a different woman that looks just like the last one. There was actually a brief period where there wasn't a preggo woman. Nevertheless I see that bitch smoking cigs all the time. I could be wrong, as I have had the same suspicions as you.

Also, I'm sure you have noticed, but they have a little compound right under the overpass. Bunch of tents set up andyou can see it when you get off the interstate right there to the left.

Same group leaves huge piles of trash from snacks and big gulps from on the run. Please nobody feed these trolls. Bunch of junkies.

The wife and I saw a guy begging in the Target parking lot with a dog that looked starving so we bought a bag of dog food in the store and a tupperware bowl and brought it out to him when we left.

I know what you are talking about. Same lady also sells gift baskets there (and has the kids help) around Valentine's and mothers day.

The ones who sell water or something for a dollar I don't mind.
Hell I even at one time wanted to start a charity that provided ice, water and an ice chest for homeless. You start them off, then after a week they buy their own ice and water to keep it going. As I looked into it further, a lawyer told me it wouldn't work because the state wouldn't get their tax on the sales and that there was no occupation tax in effect. I could only do it if i were collecting the funds for my 501 and then call it fundraising.

Damn Bureaucracy because it was a great idea and I had everything in place.

Start up costs where almost nothing and it would have made cheap cold water and drinks easier to come by for those in traffic.

everyone would. Imagine if each beggar you saw had an ice cold bottle of spring water or a can of your favorite beverage?
I would be more than happy to give a dollar for that. Hell sometimes I'm thirsty and just want a cold bottle of water, but yet am too lazy to go in a corner store and get it.

I still think about doing it guerilla style. Just start it up and get some doing it.
I wouldn't work with the crusties though, just the Hobos and crazies.

I was once approached by a guy in the Target parking lot. He needed $15 for a tow truck. I told him where the nearest ATM was. He cursed at me, and I laughed at him.

Later that night I went to L'auberge with some friends, and guess who was at the Black Jack table we played on. I asked old boy if he got that tow, and he went ballistic. It was kind of awesome.

The only time I've run across them were right around work. One guy almost always hanging around the the food and drink vending machines at end of the building. Had to time it at the right moment before lunch to avoid them in case you wanted a drink.

Not one red cent was given by me.
