I read one time that beggars can make $60,000 a year from just doing that.

I've posited this several times over the last year, but this seems an appropriate place to retell the story.

A few months ago I watched 3 young "regulars" by the underpass by my office get dropped off in a late 2000s Lexus GX SUV. I see these same people on the same corners every day. Always with different clothes, never particularly dirty looking. Dumb people keep giving them money, so they keep doing it.

It makes me feel bad for people that legit need help, but I'm too jaded to even bother now because must of these bums are just lazy assholes that could be doing actual work, but they've found enough suckers to give them money.

I've always heard reports of so called professional beggars that are able to bring in hundreds of dollars each day.

In college I gave money to a man on State St that looked kind of special. Immediately afterwards a woman approached me and told me that he lives at home with his parents and gets two checks a month from the gov.

He parks like an a-hole too.



This is why you never give these people money.

Same shite happens in Covington now. People give them money, they get in their nice vehicle, and drive back to the south shore every single day. There was a similar video like this captured of one at the Wal Mart in Covington, yet people are still idiots and give money.

The wife and I saw a guy begging in the Target parking lot with a dog that looked starving so we bought a bag of dog food in the store and a tupperware bowl and brought it out to him when we left.

He was pissed off at us.

No truck nuts though. Sad times.
