Somebody get those ukrainians a better camera and a weedeater STAT!

All I could think about while watching that video was that the Ukraine must not be home to any poisonous snakes with people carelessly walking through grass that high.

Are Ukrainians required to have dashboard cams like Russians are?

I assumed this was at the heart of the separatists' reasoning to begin with...

Shouldn't there be a no-fly zone for civilian passenger jets?

That's where I am going to look first when my wife finally agrees to bring over a young girl from out of the country to come stay with us as a live-in nanny.

I imagine dozens of jumbo jets fly over this region every day. Just a quick glance at the map, and you have some pretty popular Northern Europe to SE Asia routes:
I know this. I was an airline pilot years ago. Doesn't take much effort or time to skirt around these war zones. I'm not blaming the airline and it's a terrible tragedy, but it could have been easily avoided. It's like driving around the hood instead of through it to save a couple minutes. It's avoidable.

Well, hopefully it was a quick end for the passengers. That'd be a horrifying way to go.

"An aviation source told the Reuters news agency the wreckage of a burning aircraft had been found on the ground.

Aviation expert Major Charles Hayman told Sky News: "It's highly likely this aircraft was flying along a fault line between Russian and Ukrainian defences.

"It’s possible the Ukrainians flapped a bit, thought it was hostile and shot it down.

"Perhaps it was confusion at the Ukrainian air defence centre.

"It looks like someone failed to recognise this was a civilian plane and shot it down."

So it looks like everyone was avoiding it and the Malaysians were the dumb ones to go right through?
