That's assuming the person firing the missile has proper training.

Im leaning towards pro Russia militants mistaking it for another military cargo plane.

More than likely the missiles were supplied by Russia. Putins handling of this matter will dictate the level of outrage and/or response by other nations.

Do you not know what a "squawk" is? I find it comical anyone thinks you can lean on a SAM keyboard and fire a missile.

Last news I saw, this plane was shot down over Ukraine.....not Russia. And Putin has claimed there are no Russian troops in Ukraine.....so how are missile strikes against these separatist bombing Russia as you came I made? Explain that one to me.
