Is this still a romantic thing in Baton Rouge? A lot of first kisses were had when I was coming up at the ‘paperclip’. Remember bringing my high school girlfriend there to make out one night.

Is this still safe? Is the ‘paper clip’ still there along the Mississippi?

I'm over 40 and never heard of this. Never heard about it from my parents either.

do you mean the pier? Never heard of anyone going there to "makeout"

I wouldn't suggest high school kids hang around there late at night to fingerblast each other either

We would go there and get drunk under that thing. I made out and fingerblasted a chick there a time or two.

Now it’s infested with bums and other dark denizens of degeneracy

I have never heard of people going there, much less it called the paper clip.

Although it does resemble one.

Yes it's still there.

It's about as reasonable safe (or unsafe) as downtown BR can be.

I have no idea if it's still a romantic thing.

So first kisses typically occur from ages 10-15...how did you guys get down there and who the hell left to kids unsupervised in downtown BR?

I’ve never seen this or heard of it. It must be in NBR because I don’t go there. I value my life

Kids typically get a newfound freedom from supervision around I don't know, age 16 or so. Not exactly a brain teaser here buddy.

I knew what you meant before I even opened this thread.

One time, me and a girlfriend walked the pier one night and there was about 5 BRPD motorcycle cops there. They were all working on one of the bikes and just hanging out, and eventually ended up making these jokey, innuendo laden comments to my GF. All loud and boisterous and meathead-esque. We were like 17 or so and it was intimating.

Anyway, frick those dudes. I respect cops and everything they do but these dudes kind of sucked.

That's about all I got.
