The 5 is new for 2018, I don't think there are even on the lots yet. I drove both (2017 models) and strongly preferred the Audi. Interiors aren't even close

How was the steering feel between the two?
So much has changed between the 5 I have and what's produced now I can't even imagine how it performs. The steering in mine is glorious, but it's hydraulic and not electric.

If you are going for an entry level model I'd go with the BMW. If you are going fully loaded, I think the Audi is nicer.
If leasing, get the BMW. Audi's lease horribly whereas BMW has aggressive residuals and lowered money factors to push leases.

Audi all day long. I wouldn't take a BMW for free.

BMW. Have a towing service. They keep us in business. Just like divorce lawyers love to hear someone is getting married. More business in the next two years.

Get the 535i or 550i. Don't get the 4 cylinder.
I got a 750i amd a 650i gran coupe and love them both.

Thought about trading in our S6 for an A8L last week. Decided to wait for the model refresh. Audi's new virtual cockpit is too cool to not have if buying a new luxury car.

I like the A6 but just drove the M5 tonight. I can't imagine an A6 being better.

Go drive an RS7 and do another comparison...
It really isn't fair to compare an M5 to an A6.

Wh would you pass on that? I bought a 2 yr old one and it's a helluva nice car for the low $30s.
