They sure are. The new GT R set a record for a rear wheel drive car at Nurburgring

It was fast. I had an APR tune done just outside Auburn, AL that took me to about 600hp. I did go to NOLA Motorsports a few times with it and it handled pretty well on the track for a 4500lb. vehicle.

Yeah that comparison might have been confusing. I didn't mean to imply they competed in the same ways. The i8 is impressive for different reasons but it's still not the car the GT S is, even with the similar price range.

The RS7 is a fantastic car. It gets off the line fast - and it should. But it gets beaten around the track by the AMG E63 and M5. The Jaguar XFR-S beats it around the track as well.

Audi S6 with an apr tune. If I'm going to spend the money on a nice sedan you might as well get a little arse behind it.

Neither, buy Lexus. Better quality. And anyone saying, Luxury cars are a waste of money or are down voting you, can't afford their own and are jealous.

Was just thinking the same thing when i saw the name of this thread.

Even the a6 with the apr stage 2 for $1400 pulls like a TRAIN

I just moved on to a 2016 Jaguar XF S from a BMW 3 series. So far I like the Jag, lots of power, IMO the styling is the best of any car on the road and the ride is great.

My only complaint would be the software systems for the media. They are a little clunky.

Worth a look if you are in the market

Lexus ES 350 should be in the mix unless you want to deal with reliability problems!

Unfortunately an Apr tune isn't offered on '16-'17 a6 (c 7.5)after they upgraded the 3.0 "t". Since the s4 moved on from the same engine to a true turbo I guess they decided not to put in the effort in cracking the ecu. Disappointing.

I looked at the jag as well the interior fell short of the Audi. Also seems a little smaller though I'm not sure it is. Nice car though

BMW, easy choice.

Audi is new money. BMW and Benz are classic.

Owned both, will never "own" any new(er) German again, lease only.

With that said if performance is a priority, BMW. If luxury was the top concern, Audi.
