Those are IDF reservists. They're required to keep their weapon with them when "on call" as it were.

I was talking to a former Israeli soldier who was probably 30. He said that he always carried a handgun there. So I don’t know what the weapons rules are?

I once knew a member of the I.D.F. and unless the rules have changed any active-duty military personnel can carry their weapon in public. He said that they were also encouraged to do so.

I figured saying clips when concerning firearms would get a hall pass on the OT. You will get burned at the stake though saying that over on the OB.

I'm convinced the female Israeli soldier's main purpose is to take cool pictures for social media while wearing bikinis and carrying rifles. They're certainly not kicking down doors and killing Hamas according to all the video and news reports I've seen.
