I’m referring to the picture I posted on the previous page. Watching our security cameras at one of our production facilities in Pasadena.

Hopefully, it hasn't just burned through the area and moved on.

Uh, no.

I'm watching local LA news right now, and it says 0% contained on the Eaton Fire

Rebuild with significant federal dollars.

California is a net contributor to the federal purse. Louisiana is a net taker. And its not close.

I bet I have less than 50 post on the rant. That board is nothing but a troll fest with 1000 alters.

The Mayor, Governor, LAFD Chief, and other governmental officials knew this fire was going to take place three weeks ago based on weather pattern studies but failed to warn the public or prepare for it by trying to mitigate as much burn tracks as possible in advance.

Not saying the fire would not be put out but rather saying they had ample time to warn the citizens of the threat level and create an orderly evacuation process. Instead we are likely going to hear about a significant number of casualties and deaths over the coming days/weeks.

I had family members who live in Santa Monica and in Beverly Hills text me video this morning and the smoke and ash debris is apoplectic. Tragic situation where the injuries/deaths could have been easily avoided and security prepared for a week in advance.

What an ignorant take...

California is a beautiful state, awesome beaches and forests and contributes a tremendous amount to our economy via agriculture and technology.

I love visiting there, and most of the people are just like us.

This sucks for them, just like our natural disasters have sucked for us.

Firefighters don’t put these fires out. They either run out of fuel or Mother Nature douses them.

Having grown up in Louisiana and lived in SoCal - the amount of shitting on SoCal from Louisiana residents is hilarious to me. Louisiana is the shithole of the two but you’d never guess that from the comments.

how do you prepare for a wildfire that hasn't ignited yet...a hurricane you can track coming for days in advance. I understand they probably have threat levels for fires but until it starts I doubt anyone will get out

No comparison between the two...

Yeah, some of California's politics suck, but look at Louisiana.

And honestly, just like here, that crap doesn't affect my day-to-day life.

I love Malibu, Carmel by the Sea, and lots of other beautiful areas...

And, Hotel Del> Monterey Plaza.

There, I said it.

Example #1 of a 1000
Karen Bass defunded the LAFD by 23 million which in turn hampered the LAFD’s ability to put out public evacuation message.
Gov Newsom didn’t fill the reservoirs from last years snowpack so there is no water in many locations for fire fighters to use.

The issue is that it no longer rains in Southern California.

Southern California received above their average last year, including a couple flooding events in these exact areas.

The Right Honorable Mayor left LA, she is in Ghana.

Everyone that lives there knows about the winds and fire hazards. It is no different than living where hurricanes are a threat.

You ever read a thread where someone is considering leaving Louisiana? People get angry and basically say, 'fine! We didn't want you here anyway!' It's hilariously pathetic.

Not everyone knew of an El Diablo wind event hitting this week.
