The line of storms with the bowing segment headed north of Atlanta is stout

I'm anxiously watching these departures at ATL hoping everything gets out before it gets too bad. They don't have too much longer before the winds start to affect the arrivals

Oh, is anyone on this redeye from Jackson MS to ATL tonight? LINK

This flight from Newark just had a go-around at ATL, wonder if the winds are starting to factor in LINK

Southwest of ATL about 20 nm here.

Winds gusting to 30 out of the SE and a lot of lightning.

Has rolling fork in Mississippi ever started to recover from was it 2023??? It looked like this.

That's in the central part of the state, so I'm not sure. Don't think there was much there to begin with, so doubtful.

That's pretty significant for landing, but not impossible.

a lot of lightning

That's going to be the bigger problem. Tarmac is going to shut down shortly if that's the case

I haven't seen anything take off on the north departure runway in quite a bit, looks like those planes are holding now. South runway is still operating at the moment for departures. As soon as i type that, this very delayed flight to shreveport is taking off DL 3634. They must be giving the flights new flight plans to avoid the nearby storms

A lot of the west fixes will be unavailable. Luckily we are passing through the final bank.

Sitting here at Lake Martin near Dadeville wishing I would have stayed in BHM. How much longer am I going to be sweating out whether the stuff west of us comes our way?

Be safe. Looks like tornado going right over the lake.

Wind really starting to pick up in Druid Hills. Above ground power/internet definitely not ideal right now
