Your project crew running boats on the river? Cause if it is we gotta problem. Some people claiming to be working for a company were barging on the river today and sent 2 foot wake into my grandparents house.

That sucks. Paw-Paw needs to send a warning shot across those a-hole's bow.

This happened on the Tangi? I know a lot of people that have camps on the lower Tangi and it shocked me that they didn't get shot.

If he is on the South Amite and didn't I am shocked.

Not sure on legality, but I doubt any law enforcement would touch it.

How the hell are they navigating right now anyway.

I'm getting the impression that the water has not receded completely from flooded areas at this time. Are those photos of the Santa Maria golf course in BR taken in the last 24 hours?

Are there some folks whose homes are still flooded?

My folks live towards the back end of Quail Ridge in Slidell... Not ON the W. Pearl River... but rear of the property is swamp and is less than a quarter mile from the river..

They said the water is up a good 3 or 4 feet higher than it was 8 hours ago.

It's supposed to crest in their area after midnight tonight (approx 3am)... so it's gonna be a couple 5 hours before that situation gets determined.

My parents live in the back of Quail Ridge too. They're about 1400' from the river. They came up to BR yesterday. If you hear any updates, please keep us informed.

Will do. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread in case you or any others have updates as well.

FWIW - Their house is on a high spot in the middle of 2 lots... added additional fill so the house would be built above the floodplain from the 1983 floods. It sits at 13.25" and they had a couple feet to spare the last time QR got a lot of water a few years ago.

My 96yr old grandmother lives with them and they made arrangements for her to stay elsewhere for the week.

Fingers crossed for anybody else nervously watching the water into the night tonight.

I think my parents' house is 11.5'. They had water about halfway up the driveway last time QR had a similar event. They got around 30" in Katrina. This time if they flood, they're just gong to gtfo. I did see part of their street is closed off.
