roads will be treacherous when it freezes over tonight

Yeah. Roads were alright north of Dallas today because it was slushy. They still look slushy right now but will likely be like a sheet of ice on the secondary roads in the AM.

Weather channel is still calling for up to 5 inches of snow for Atlanta

I'd like to see a nice, heavy snow that covered the grass deep enough to make a nice, pretty , white blanket too, but I have a whole lot more faith in Mellish than I do The Weather Channel. TWC has one goal in mind - get more people to watch and make more money. They're as bad with playing up winter weather as they are when they kneel in a ditch to make it look like a Cat 1 hurricane left three feet of water on Main Street.

Mellish, on the other hand, is in it for the accuracy and he's got a much better ecord than TWC.

Yeah, I'd enjoy seeing a nice bit of snow, but I don't think it's going to happen to the extent everyone has been playing up to. At least not in the Atlanta aea.

4 wheel drive helps you get traction. It will not help you stop if you get into ice.

Highly suggest if you’re in an area where you’ll get some freezing rain/sleet to grab some kitty litter or pea gravel to keep in your car. Will help with traction if you get stuck.

I learned this about 5-6 hours ago, got it corrected when I started going off the road. Thankfully I was only going about 27-28, still scared the crap out of me.

Still snowing in TX panhandle, now the wind is blowing around 30 with higher gusts. Going to be nasty tomorrow on the roads.

Kurt Mellish, just so you know, is a communist.
