....against the venue.
Sorry for the Yahoo article
Bold move to start fricking with the lawyers. Let's see how this pans out in the long run.
The article also talks about the woman who was trying to see the Rockettes, but was denied entry.

Madison Square Garden's facial recognition blacklisting sparks outcry

The heated debate over facial recognition technology has a new flashpoint: Manhattan's celebrated Madison Square Garden, home to the New York Knicks basketball team and countless Billy Joel concerts.
The operator of the arena, where Joe Frazier defeated Muhammad Ali in 1971's "Fight of the Century," is under fire for using the software to identify and eject certain lawyers from events at the venue -- because they are associated with ongoing litigation involving MSG.

Local lawmakers want to halt the crackdown, which rights campaigners say is a gross abuse of a technology that is already raising fears about privacy and control from America to China.

Last October, Barbara Hart and her husband were approaching their seats at "The Garden" for a Brandi Carlile concert to celebrate their wedding anniversary when security guards stopped them.
She said the guards identified her without seeing her ID card, and despite the tickets being in her husband's name, before removing the couple from the venue.
quote:
Hart said she was targeted because her firm is engaged in a lawsuit against the venue's parent company, MSG Entertainment, even though she is not on the case.
"It was bewildering and upsetting. Bullying with fancy tools," the 62-year-old told AFP.
Hart is among at least four lawyers removed recently from MSG Entertainment venues because their firms are locked in legal disputes with the company.

wasn't this a couple weeks ago? still, its dystopian as hell and facial recognition really freaks me out.

I know the one woman made headlines. I didn't see talk of the others.

James Dolan is so petty

Someone has to slap around the Plaintiff Attorneys, Judges wont do it because they want to be elected. Whole reason state level trial courts are a joke.

The only difference between us and China is they’re open about using it. You think the NSA isn’t going to take full advantage of the cameras on every stoplight?

Hmm. Let me think about how I feel about this. If it's a private business, and you are associated with people suing them, I feel they have the right to ban you/not allow you in their facility... I think we are bothered by the new black mirroresque technology and not specifically its use in this situation.

You have to kind of take a step back and admire the depths of his pettiness.
You know he was in a full zip onesie sipping bourbon watching the security footage.

Let’s hope the Germans don’t bomb Pearl Harbor again.

I was in Vegas last week and one of our employees was tagged by facial recognition for a prior incident in the Venetian. They snatched him up two minutes after he got on the property. Pretty impressive really. They had him before he made the casino floor. Gave him a Trespass warning and told him not to come back.

Good for MSG - they have every right to kick the lawyers out of the venue.

They can all just wear a mask if they are concerned

Some of this new software detects you even if wearing a mask and hat.

Plaintiff lawyers should be banned from all venues and establishments.
