Uber has a more lax hiring process, so that might help you in your pursuit of victims.
Lyft is much better as a customer though.

Guess we shouldn’t tell him that he can now arrange an Uber or Lyft ride for someone other than himself (ex his rape victim)

Have only used Uber. Never had an issue so never tried lyft.

I first started with Lyft because it had a tip function. Then, I just got in the habit of using it.

In NYC it doesn't matter as most drivers drive for both. The best one here is Juno, which is also Uber and Lyft drivers. However, most drivers will pick up the Juno first as they are paid 30% vs the ~10% on Uber / Lyft and Juno tends to be the cheapest.

Lyft has tougher requirements to be a driver, which is better for the rider. The drivers get paid better with Lyft too.
And you can connect your Delta Skymiles with Lyft and earn miles whenever you ride with Lyft.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, Uber is better.

Their hiring processes are the same. And most people that drive for one, drive for both.
Lyft is usually cheaper in NOLA.
