Just like Les, Coach O wanted a buddy of his that he could completely control.
What connection did Les and Crowton have before being hired
What connection did Les and Cameron have before being hired
Les made moves to fire people, I mean Crowton got 3 years, Cameron was in his 4th year. 3 years after having a record-setting offense.
Personally, based on his history I believe Les would have made the change at the end of the season had the offense kept struggling.

Les and Cam were not only both assistant coaches at Michigan in 1987, but shared a cramped office together. They coached together through the 80's and 90s.
Cam was a groomsman in Les' wedding to Kathy in 1993.
When Cam was questioned about coaching with such a close friend when he was hired by Les, his response:
"When you love somebody, it's easy to look each other in the eye and know you love each other unconditionally," he said. "There's no downside to it because the relationship always trumps everything. For me and my family, it doesn't get any better than this.":
You were joking, right??

Personally, I believe in unicorns. Doesn't make them real.
Oh, and pretty sure Alleva and the Board thought he would have made the change the season prior to Les getting humiliated and canned. I guess we see where "personally, I believe....." gets you.

Chicken Tikka Masala and Cilantro-Lime Rice.

Actually wasn't aware of that, however, I stand by my belief he would have been fired had Les been able to stay the whole year.
Les had a habit of letting coaches go and it would have been the 3rd straight decline after a record setting year.

No, I'm just really, really smart.

You old devil, skil. Since I’m sure Aubrey knows that your Mum is British, calling Mac Winifred was very clever. Truly a classic name. Unfortunately, it sounds kind of horsey when the nickname is used.
Sorry you couldn’t impress the pretty, young redhead.

I disagree. Most coaches wanted to work for Miles because of his reputation of not letting coaches go, unless he could find them jobs elsewhere prior. And in regards to buddies, he simply would not let them go, no matter how bad they were. See Bradley Dale Peveto. We had worst special teams in the country, coached by his pal, and he wouldn't let him go.
