That's an important part of the conversation, don't you think? Les wouldn't fire him. Period. After Orgeron was named head coach, one of his first major announcements was to immediately fire BDP.

Because I had forgotten about that, I was wrong. I still believe he was "fired" after the Co-DC thing and allowed to resign instead.

I'll grant you that, to save face, I believe Les asked him to go and allowed him to resign instead of being fired.
He should have done the same when the special teams went down the toilet, but he refused to, despite seemingly everyone calling for it.

He was only back at LSU for 2 seasons prior to being fired.
As I said, I firmly believe looking back at Let's hirings that he would have made changes if they would not have improved. Part of me feels Les never thought he was in danger of being fired midseason and didn't like what was available the previous off-season.
