Lucid Dreaming? Is it possible to control?

A different but interesting topic. Life honestly has been pretty hard for me the last few years and to be completely honest, I find dreams to be better than reality. Now of course many here will say "duh, of course, they're dreams" but in my case it really is true. I feel like I'm more alive when I'm dreaming than when I've awake.
(Please note: I know people might freak out to this. I do suffer from some anxiety but I am not depressed and I am absolutely not self-harming or suicidal. I would never do something that selfish and harmful to my family. I just want to put that out there so that no one is concerned.)
I was actually watching Inception a few nights ago and it got me thinking about the idea of Lucid Dreaming. The idea that you know you are in a dream and therefore can have more control over the dream. The scene where they go to the place where everyone is sleeping and the old guy says "no, they don't come here to sleep, they come here to live" really hit me pretty hard.
Has anyone here ever been able to Lucid Dream or even attempted it? What was your experience? Do you think it's possible to train your brain to allow you to be aware that you are in a dream and therefore allow you control of the dream?

You’re in a dream right now.
Wake up.
Wake up.
Wake.
Up.
Wake up.
Wake up.
Wake.
Up.

Ive had several lucid dreams but I've never like "tried" to have them.
I've thought about trying to have them since I've already been able to have them.
It never last very long once I realize I'm dreaming but it's pretty awesome for at least a little bit

If only I was in a dream, it would be much nicer than this. I would actually be with a woman that I loved and be intimate. I've never had sex and it destroys me a little bit more every day. Dreaming is actually when I'm at peace and happy. That's why I'm so curious about it.

I have them fairly regularly, but it is not something I can "attempt" really.
It just happens. And yeah, it is usually awesome. Sometimes though it is just me walking down some random street and nothing exceptional happens.

Why, because life is an unmerciful mother fricker sometimes? Welcome to life.

DMT gets released in your brain to make dreaming possible. When you die, all the DMT stored in your brain is released at once in an instant which means that you will be dreaming for eternity. It’s possibly that your very existence right now could possibly just be DMT being released and making you replay your life over and over again forever.
Also, DMT is an illegal drug and super hard to get. DMT trips are the most intense things in the world. People reported seeing aliens and thought they were teleported somewhere else while on a DMT trip.

Expert level: take an entheogen while you're lucid dreaming.
Ain't hard to make.

There was a tribe in New Guinea that believed the dream state was reality and the awaken state was a dream.
They also tried to flatulate at the moment of sexual climax.
They had a fantastic culture until missionaries showed up and introduced steel axes which would eventually replace stone axes as their primary currency.
They figured that, since nobody had dreams about steel axes, they must have it all wrong.

Just listen to Rosetta stoned and read the lyrics to get the picture of a DMT trip.

Not sure if it's lucid dreaming, but sometimes when I take melatonin at night I can see myself dreaming. If that makes sense. Like I can extract myself from the dream and watch it as a bystander.

Lots of married guys are in similar situations.
Don’t put the pussy on a pedestal, because the grass isn’t always greener.

Yes it is, but your body doesn’t like it, so it will start doing what it can to trick you back into forgetting you’re dreaming.
The key is to make a habit out of looking for the clues that it’s not real.

Don’t walk away too far or else another spirit will take your body and you will never even know what happened. Happened in that movie once.
