It's called the enrollment cliff and it's a national phenomenon that's been known for some time.

Louisiana is actually in better shape than most of the country.

Are you not an adult and cannot think for yourself to see how retarded that practice is?

This is why white enrollment is down. Because LSU teaches dumb shite like this.

You don't believe in affirmative action, but you've been brainwashed into capitalizing the word "black" but not "white"?

Of course.

Finally, someone that reads factual information based in the demographics of the country rather than some half-witted hypothesis gleaned from some question on a survey that virtually no one saw.

Population decline is real, across the developed nations.
America isn't nearly as bad as some other countries, but we are still below replacement rate.

A few years ago LSU decided to follow the trend of Ivy League schools and use a more wholistic approach to admissions by placing less emphasis on ACT/SAT scores. The problem with that is Louisiana scores in general are much lower than the scores of kids applying to elite universities. Instead of reaching for higher standards, LSU lowered the bar to admissions.

Black parents don’t want to send their kids to Southern.

Can’t blame them.

Correct. LSU’s enrollment is much higher than it was 10 years ago. Even this year, it’s probably still closer to 40,000 than 30,000.

So many of yall spew crap without even researching it. The above article is from fall 2022. Average ACT score of 26, that's about 3 points higher than when I was applying back in 2010.

LSU is test optional so that’s likely an average of 26 of the kids who reported their scores.
Just a couple of days ago a potential transfer student from community college didn’t get accepted for spring and posted in the student/parent group. She has a 16 on the ACT. People advised her to reapply for fall without her ACT score.

So my family is first generation American. My brother (then me) were the first in the family to graduate college (LSU). My two brothers each had 3 kids and they went to LSU as well. We are now at a time where their kids are going to college. None of my nephews/nieces want to send their kids to LSU for the simple fact that BR is NOT safe. It's just too dangerous to live in this city.

White kids going into trades also - no reason to spend $80,000 on a shitty degree when you can make more money in the trades and no debit. Some demographics looks for the word degree and think it’s intelligence - it’s not. Just like they taunt Travis Hunters GPA of 4.0. What it in? PE?

“White” simply refers to one’s skin tone. While “Black” is an identity based on the shared history and culture of a population. Hence the capitalization of “Black.”

Shared history and culture? What do black people in Australia have in common with black people in America? African American should be capitalized for sure, but white and black are just descriptive terms

I can easily afford LSU and my kid will definitely get scholarships but ain’t no way I’m sending my kid to LSU/BR to live.

Define what you mean by better shape. They have a higher enrollment and are making more money off of tuition? Or they have higher quality students now? It can't be both.
