There was a geography professor at LSU in 1979 that used to call them the "mammary mounds". He said that they had excavated them many years ago and found nothing in them but dirt.

Does anyone ever get onto the Indians for disturbing nature in the first place? What if they piled that dirt on some ancienter ruins?

yep, they also built that low brick wall around the base to keep vehicles off them after that girl got run over

My first night as a student it was pouring down rain, we went from Broussard, found some cardboard boxes and went flying down. Then went out slip and sliding on flooded parade grounds. That was a fun night for my first day of “being on my own”
