Kids have been sliding down those mounds on cardboard boxes for as long as I can remember which is since 1966 when I started going to the football games. . Considering that they have survived for 6,000 years, I think they can handle that "abuse".

When I was a kid, I would spend all week looking for he right box to bring on Saturdays. Had to be just the right size for maximum quickness going down, then running it back up.
