Not tailgating
No way of preventing or mitigating by closing a field

I saw young black males and females running full speed down Highland past Ag Center as if their lives depended on it. They all looked scared as if they were running away from something.

They were running away from Unity. I have never heard what happened.

The state, city, and LSU really stepped up and put effort into fixing this problem.. there were law enforcement displays everywhere and officers roaming in packs of six officers .. they stood out and there was no doubt they were ready and willing to address any concerns.. same for emt ..

I heard they had some mounted officers also .. saw a few bike groups ..

Well done ! Simple proactive prevention…

I hope they keep up some aspects of this effort in place ..

Do feel free to peruse the initial news story, this one from WBRZ, stating the reasons.

Apparently the investigation traced some of the hostilities to a tailgate there.

What would be the talking points about a white student interviewed on campus that said he just wanted to be around “his people.”?

The US didn't have be a race problem. The US has problem with just one race.

It seems that way only because the CRIME (which the closer is in response to) - is overwhelmingly racial

I remember twice in the late 90s and early 2000s when some if not all fraternities were kicked off the fairgrounds for behavior.

Happens.

The problem on a lot of HBCU's (and likely LSU) is an influx of non-students onto the campus. There's not as much "I'm in college now so time to meet new friends" and too many incoming black freshman (and even older students) want to still hang out with their old friends who aren't in college (and, in some cases, who are sketchy). Isiah Thomas wrote a great article for new college athletes on this subject, pointing out that Michael Jordan no longer hangs out with his buddies from the project where he grew up.

These non-students get on campus and cause shite. Some of these campuses need to be closed - if you're not a student or alumni, stay off campus.

She's supposedly an LSU student. Season tickets for students are $125 for all the home games, with individual tickets available for as little as $5 or free.

Plus, she said nothing about the game itself. She was talking about tailgating, which is free.

Good. They should be allowed to party at their own house. The way it used to be.

Then they would be begging for the Deke gameday sign tradition to continue. Someone would be praying for those guys to frick up.
