I know its cool to call people "snowflake", but people are on high alert right now. Law enforcement are telling people "if you see something, say something". I'd rather someone not assume and take action than to think "its probably not anything".. And then something happens
Its cliche but its better to be safe than sorry.
idiot

so not only was this cop there for a soft arse social media bullying speech but then one of the soft arse students called the cops because of a holstered gun on a cop
i feel real shame sometimes when i tell people im in my 20's because they automatically associate me with shite like this

And I'm.suggeeting there's a very high likelihood that his gun was on one side of his belt and his badge was on the other given what he was there for.
Yeah that's certainly a possibility. My original question was just to confirm plainclothes meant what I thought it meant.
In hindsight this is stupid, but depending on his attire, it is at least understandable.

It’s not illegal to open carry
it is at LSU. Hell my roommate's truck was opened by LSU PD and his Ruger .22 seized while parked at the vet school. And this was 25+ years ago. He was in one of the labs. The cop saw the gun on the floorboard, opened his truck with a jimmy, and took his gun cause guns aren't allowed on campus.
TO say my buddy was pissed is an understatement. he did get his Ruger back though.

I feel like I went to a different school
A plain clothes respectable guy with a gun in a holster and it's high alert call the authorities and seal off the area
Our high alert time was Derrick Todd Lee. A guy murdering young women in the area. They would probably shut down the university today if that were going on

He didn’t come in wearing a black trench coat and a long rifle man
Yeah because all of these mass shooters wore black trench coats.
Combine happened 20 years ago. How many shooters have wore trench coats since then?

seems a bit hyperbolic, no?
1 person called it in and the police have to take it seriously

ah, gotcha.
kids are kids...some are probably scared/confused...some are just wanting to stir it up and become victims/social media celebrities. the majority are just there to drink and have fun.
Like most things the loudest voices are on each end, and the media blows it up

So they knew an armed officer was coming into the building and failed to alert anyone ahead of time? Sounds about right
And you know they’re just going to shift blame and take no responsibility.

heard earlier a custodian called it in

you really are retarded aren't you? You cant see the stupidity in mistaking a plain clothes officer whose sidearm is HOLSTERED for a legitimate threat?

With all this wolf crying... .what is going to happen at some point is very predictable....

If a janitor calls in saying someone on campus is carrying a gun, the cops are going to go apeshit. The event is going to get blown out of proportion until it's cleared.
