Yeah concealment doesn’t count in a car, you can hide it without a license so to me that’s just a dumb move to leave it in plain sight.
well let me clarify where this occurred. My roommate worked full time at the LSU SVM at the time. His truck was parked at the VS Farm (across from the SVM.) It wasn't in "plain site". the fricking grip was exposed under the driver's seat. It wan't like he left it on the dash, center console, seat or even on the floorboard. In order for Curley to have seen the pistol, he had to have walked over to where the employees parked and looked through tinted glass to see the gun.
then he forced his way into the truck to seize a .22. I'm all about law and order and safety, but that's some bullshite.

An armed law officer at LSU to speak to students about cyber security and staying safe on social media triggered the hours-long lockdown and SWAT response on part of LSU's campus when someone spotted his gun and reported an armed intruder on campus, school officials said Wednesday.
The false alarm saw a major police response around Coates Hall where students planned to attend a demonstration on ways to safeguard themselves on social media. But some instead found themselves behind barricaded doors as officers swept the building for nearly two hours.
Well the "good news" regarding the lockdown is the LSU tried to simulate an emergency on campus and both got rained out.
The lockdown inadvertently helped test the measures in place.

Wow. Imagine seeing a fricking cop with a gun and calling in a report of “an armed intruder”

What about statistics? Are we not in an all time low for crime in the US?

LSU UREC is conducting an active shooter emergency drill tomorrow. Perfect timing.
quote:
LSUPD and the National Center for Biomedical Research and Training/Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education (NCBRT/ACE) will be conducting an active shooter exercise at the Student Recreation Complex (UREC) tomorrow, Aug. 23, from approximately 9:30 to 11 a.m. The UREC will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon.
Please be advised that during this time, a blank gun will be fired sporadically and there will be a large presence of first responders. This is a part of the drill and not a cause for concern.
LSUPD officers will be posted on the perimeter of the UREC, and no one will be permitted to enter unless they are a part of the drill. The UREC will reopen at noon.
Due to the incident in Coates Hall on Tuesday, we ask that you help spread the word about this previously-scheduled drill to friends and loved ones so there is no confusion or cause for alarm.
Thank you for your cooperation.

I guarantee someone is going to hear this without knowing about the drill and cause chaos.
