Had 62,000 applicants last year. The school continues to build new housing and academic facilities all while becoming more selective in admissions.

Building more dorms, on-campus apartments, and classrooms, and using up parking space to do so. They really need a couple parking garages to balance it out. It's way overdue.

Insane numbers. University of Oregon is in a budget crisis due to a lack of OOS students, which surprised me given how popular the brand is. Also UC system admission standards are insane.

What is the LSU freshman fail out rate compared to other universities?

Is this public information?

Don’t have comparison data at hand.

But stand alone is pretty sad…

Graduation rates:

4 years. 46%

5 years ~60–63% (estimated from LSU cohort progression data)

6 years 68–69%

That portion of incoming freshman class, that will not graduate, is important cash source for university operations. Also, it is drag on yield of LSU’s resources.

And this includes those watered down (and online) programs.

The business games of higher education!

Im an LSU alum. So is 3/4 of my family.

The number of students who enroll does not necessarily reflect the number of students who are admitted. With the common application, it's really easy to apply to a whole bunch of schools at once that you only have casual interest in. LSU's acceptance rate is still in the 70s.
