That shite don't matter.
I too do not like anyone but myself having fun and enjoying themselves.

t’s a plague. Not happening at just LSU. Tennessee has done its best to rid campus of the fraternities.
Greek life will be dead in 10 years if university officials continue to have their way.
I agree. And I think it is equal parts eliminating risk/potential liability and latent jealously by non-frat people.
Guys in fraternities do stupid shite. There are plenty of entitled assholes in frats. But that can be said for non-fraternity guys as well. My issue is why is there no question of self accountability for the kids complaining? If you don't like the club, or what they are asking/"forcing" you to do, leave!
No one is mandated by law to be a member of a fraternity while in college. In fact, it is entirely possible to get a college degree without being in a frat.
I pledged my first semester of college. As that semester went on I became less enamored with the frat and didn't want to do the stupid shite they were asking me to do. So rather than cry and complain to the university, I simply just left the fraternity. While I was in, did I do dumb things with my pledge brothers such as drink to excess? Absolutely. But doing so was always MY choice. When I decided I no longer wanted to do that, I went my separate way with no hard feelings. That particular fraternity just wasn't my thing.
Here, we certainly have some horrible situations with kids drinking themselves to death. Thus, I can understand universities wanting to simply just rid themselves of what they see as an unnecessary burden. But I also think part of it is that you have a crusade of jealous losers who feel it is their mission shut down clubs of which they are not forced to belong to. They see frat guys as an "enemy" even though they literally do not have to socially interact with those guys if they choose not to.

YOU CANT SERVE ALCOHOL TO MINORS. YOU CANT LET MINORS BRING ALCOHOL AND DRINK ON YOUR PROPERTY! YOU CANT FORCE MINORS TO BEEAK THE LAW!
WTF is so hard to understand?
Once you catch a grasp on the legal issues, now try to graps the financial and liability issues. Isurance comoanies cancel or wont write coverage on the houses or the GL on the university, or they rate it so high its ridiculous.
Idiots likenyou have put the university in a position where they are forced to show actions...simply to relieve liability.
I think you need to settle down.

Most Greeks that I have met over the years, turn into travel ball dads. They had to buy their friends in college, and now, believe they need to spend $$$ on Jayden and Jaxson to be able to have any friends at all, the other travel ball dads.
Why do you spend so much time with travel ball dads to know something like this?

Will never understand this sentiment. Some of my best friends now and even during college were frat guys. I wasn’t in one, but don’t understand the hate they get from folks.

The kid died because he choked on his own puke, not because he was forced to drink, from what I understand.

This. If they are travel ball dads with kids named Jayden and Jaxson, I would bet money they weren't in a fraternity.

Last I checked, nobody is holding people hostage when it comes to pledging a frat. If you don’t like it or they require you to do something you don’t agree with then you can just quit. 18 yr old kids are still adults.
That being said, the vast majority of minors probably break the rule when it comes to underage drinking. It is NOT related to just fraternities.

The worst thing to happen to college life, was changing the drinking age from 18, to 21.
