Yeesh. The LSU Greek system was already pretty sub-par. This might as well be the nail in the coffin.

Like everything else associated with the current LSU administration - this will be a massive failure.

If lsu doesn't have a lively party scene, what does it have?

Tailgating used to take place at the houses. The Parade Ground "tradition" is only a few years old.

Going back to the houses is in name only if they strict on the rules. I was around in the transition to the parade grounds. The tailgates were scattered around campus around and parade grounds were avoid because of MIPs and it’s really far from the stadium. The parade grounds hardly had anyone in the field before the frats came around.

Anyway, the reason we stopped doing the house was because they said we had to hire security and third party vendors while some baw that didn’t go to LSU is across the street shut gunning ultras and fireball.

This will essentially kill greek life. Good job LSU.

Why don't they just take their parties off campus. LSU would have no say then.

Good points that were all pretty much reasons why 2/3 of my pledge class shouldn’t have been initiated.

We had a half-semester initiation, meaning no grades before doing so. Most of the class either had abysmal grades or came in below full time by dropping too many classes but you can’t un-initiate them over that.

Who said they think they are gonna stop it? They just have to show the attempt to stop it.

That could be. They may just want to minimize their own liability.

So, basically go back to how it was in the early 90s.

I like how they said adult supervision.

I wasn’t aware that being 18 no longer meant being an adult is LSU’s eyes

They mean an adult who wasn't in high school four months ago. An adult who has a career and a house and cars that he could lose if he's named in a wrongful death lawsuit. An adult who knows why you shouldn't do cocaine in plain sight of the security cameras and why forcing an 18 year old to do shots is a bad idea.

Such a double standard for the other students. It’s better to not be in Greek life and start your own club. No rules for them

We used to tailgate at the house in the late Hallman/early Dinardo days.

Two month pledge ship activities is interesting. So can you rush and get a class, but hold off on official pledge activities until November/December, and have “unofficial pledgeship activities” in September/October?

At LSU?

As if TKE could actually be selective and cut 2/3 of a pledge class.

There was South Seas week, alcohol, drugs, etc in the early 90's. Have no idea what you're talking about.

Basically, the frats now wish they were like it was in the early 90's.
