This might be the answer. People will claim racism, but this is for the greater good.

All that to not say anything other than they will review their security protocol? frick that, give us examples of ideas they’re considering. Ask for input from the public. Ask for ideas. Ask for problem areas.

This is generally reactive. Show us pro-active. Start thinking outside the box to make a change.

we maintain significant resources to ensure public safety. On game day, we typically have 600 trained on-duty police officers representing LSU Police, local law enforcement, and state agencies to safeguard our community. We take full advantage of advanced technologies, including license plate readers, camera networks, and upgraded lighting, which allows for real-time, campus-wide monitoring and rapid response. Our law enforcement presence is fully coordinated
Yet, two SEC home games and two shootings along with a possible small riot.

Is Sloan in charge of safety as well?

Are these shooting incidents "drive bys" or personal confrontations?

Talk is cheap. But at least Landry is talking about doing something different. The mass email from the university president mostly just talks about all the shite they're already doing (supposedly). Whatever they've been doing ain't working.

Word salad.

I've watched this ghetto develop over the years, 70 at least. The area around has slowly built up around the campus. As each area ages it becomes rundown and trashy. Low income brings in people that have no connection to LSU.

It is a mirror of N. B.R. I went to school there back in the late 60s. Nice area back then. I'm scared to go there now.

These, so-called, LSU Board of Supervisors and this clueless LSU Interim President have no idea what they are dealing with and even less knowledge and/or nuts to deal with it.

They weren’t concerned. They were promoting this crap with the twerk party at the P-Mac. It blew up in their faces.

They will never address changing the culture on campus they promoted.

The northgate area looks very similar in the presidents street area as it did 50 years ago .. actually a lot of development with the river research center some updated housing .. doing some stuff internal to the presidents area.. the stuff just off campus has some solid condo complex’s.. the hippie houses are getting updates and some actually pricing out the old school clients..

The property in the area is in general the same.. the chimes/state street area is in distress ( comes and goes).. attempts to buy and develop the block with another city block student apartments in going on again based on rumors?

I spend a lot of time in area and own rentals in area. IMO.. the residents from the presidents street area spend more time venturing out from their neighborhoods into the area than they did when you are remembering .in general never a problem .. occasional crime if opportunity .. but they venture onto campus … especially around holidays.. . if you generate an activity that encourages this to happen more and on a tighter time window for congregation you will have negative results.

I suspect game day and maybe a few specific events did this ??? .. in general 99 percent of the time just off campus in the area is safe.. quiet .. and fine..

Something was a catalyst

The area on other side of campus yall referenced by the lake .. historically has had the orang fencing around it .. one open section going in.. one out for cut through.. a police check point.. I do not go down there on game day and do not know what caused a change?

I haven't been down there on gameday in forever but when I was in in college (04-08) and a good while after, that area wasn't very populated, probably because it was always set up with young wi**ers that would blast the trashiest music possible.

Has BR Mayor Coach chimed in yet or is he taking another nap? Haven't seen anything much at all from the phantom mayor.

no, but it is LSU's responsibility to keep those people from doing their dumb shite on campus. Christ, with that attitude, no one is held accountable. You can say the same shite about the police. And I'm sure BRPD will given their utter lack of concern and competence on crime in the rest of the city (ie the death of Allie Rice). I can hear Lejean Mcneely now, "aint the police's fault dem kidz is thugz. If we had mo cameras and shot tracers, we could show up a lot faster when its all over with. We won't prevent no crime, but we sho will rush dem two officers on patrol to look see what they can find."

Need more A.D. announcements prior to home sporting events beginning. Obviously, these events are being triggered by racism from the stands.

The LSU Parents FB page is deadly silent on this. I remember when those people squawked about everything.

profiling

Should always be done. It is stupid not to recognize that certain demographics are more likely to commit crimes.
