While all eyes were on the legislature the BOS raised tuition for students:

What is the cost of LSU tuition and fees now?

What good would a tuition increase be without $500,000.00 dedicated to poor students who live above their means?

Amazing.
So now, families that have ok to decent money (normal income) will have to fork out more money themselves to pay for their kids to go to school just so low income kids can go for free.
I love welfare and the education system so so much these days

Contrary to what some assert, university fees and the ever-growing cost of textbooks, not actual tuition, are the primary source of overpriced higher education.

Maybe at your state public schools. The costs are driven up across the board primarily as a result of credit flowing too freely to risky borrowers.

Just as Vice episode came out that made FKA and JBE looks like fools.

It's probably $10,000/year for in state off campus. If not that already.

I did the math this morning when I saw this. Last semester tuition was right at 4000 and fees were another 860. So with the raises your looking at 4200/semester tuition and 1224 with fees. If they stick to those exact amounts. So in-state off campus is going to cost me a little over 12,000 for my last year at LSU. Plus probably another 500/semester for any books or online learning programs.

I am averaging spending 20k a semester for out of state tuition, housing, meals, fraternity, and books.
One year to go.
The sad thing is that when he graduates him and none of his friends are planning on staying in Louisiana to work.
The state is so fricked up that no one with sense is staying in state.

LSU is a bottomless pit of greed, waste and academic entitlement.

Seriously, frick poor people.

I want to say it was close to $7,500/per year in state just a decade ago. Someone said its about $12,000 now. It varies a little depending on how many hours you're taking but college tuition increases as a much much greater rate than it should naturally.

Think it was 4850/semester. This puts it right @$10k/year

In comparison, my daughter went to Texas Tech and her semesters averaged 5500 per semester which was for everything. But her rent was only 200 per month compared to 700 per month in BR.
