This will do wonders for their fund raising efforts.

They seemed to donate pretty damn well when Okeefe was president. But apparently his political bend didn’t sit with a lot of professors

had to layoff 40% of their employees
Wasn't this Rona related?
Insiders know better
The move to layoff the staff was because of the failure to raise the funds for a $1.5B capital campaign. The Foundation CEO was replaced as well

I listened to the board speeches on this matter and it appears there was substantial archival evidence proving Middleton’s support of segregation while he was President.
So he shared the same views as Muhammad Ali on the subject.

And so now the majority of donations will come from people of color?
Since they obviously don’t want the money of us evil white devils since at some point in the past someone might have said something deemed racist by modern standards

Doesn’t matter. In this day and age, a university cannot be seen as standing idle on the subject of racial discrimination. Especially considering its peers have already made several changes on their campuses

Yet the Law Center still named after Russell Long
Point taken, but that's the field house. Paul M. Hebert is who the law center is named after, they just have a statue of Russell Long chillin out front

In retrospect, did he help or hinder it?
Not sure, but if his prestigious military career is any indicator, he followed his orders promptly and without question

LSU has never been on the same level as their SEC peers in terms of academic fundraising. Emmert may have been the most successful.

Dramatic counterpoint but so did Himler...

You are correct. I've made the change.

I mean, I’m not gonna lie. Out of the stuff being removed this is one I’m mildly okay with. Dude was pretty blatantly racist.

Not accurate, FWIW.
Pre-COVID they were actually ahead of target on the $1.5B goal.

Yeah, that's not really relevant at all but thanks, I guess

no more money from me.

I really hope this hits the university where it hurts.

No one. Really.
No one donated?
OK

My point is your behaviors are not excused simply because you were following orders. Distinguished military careers earn you the benefit of the doubt but it does not patently pardon you from supporting a policy that in hindsight has been deemed wrong

Then do something that actually helps. Virtue signaling is not doing something that actually helps.

That guy over there did something stupid and now I have to do it to, or I'm racist.

It will. Everything is about money, it's the only language that everyone speaks fluently. The Democrat party is the party of big business (go look at campaign contributions and what content Amazon et al. give priority to).
Money is the lifeblood that fuels these petty tyrants, so you have to starve them of it in order to make a point and effect change.
