You are exactly right. I am a teacher and the children have all the rights. I know both of these officers personally and now, once again, we are out of two police officers because of a bad child.

The youfs these days aren't what they used to be. Hell, a 13 year old killed a 9 year old in an argument over a rap video here in BR. Schools are just temporary holding cells these days.

Kid admitted going for the gun. I dont give a frick about anything after that.

How about why the officer started fighting him in the first place?

You can't excuse going for the gun, no doubt, but how it got to that point matters.

Yea it seems to really escalate quickly at the start and without context it doesn’t seem a great look for the officer. Who knows though.

Going for the gun is obviously a bright line unacceptable option but how the fight started likewise weighs heavy in how (if at all) to discipline the officer

After watching that video, I’m mad as hell. For the kid. I hope the LSP and any other authoritative body prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. They should not only never be cops again, but be in jail for assaulting a minor.

You need to work a beat for a few weeks, maybe your perception would change.

These kids have NO respect for authority and SJW's are empowering them.

Ohhhb, you were talking about the student.

The one that was arguing with the principle, not the cop that came in and attacked the kid from behind.

That's true, but you still can't body slam them because they're disrespectful.

If he body slammed him for no reason whatsoever, then he needs to be fired.

I doubt he didn't have a reason

I just saw this video and that doesn't look good for the now former officers.

I have a few questions, but I will read through the thread first.

If this happened without his parents or attorney present, doesn’t matter. Not admissible. And I’d even argue came as a result of intimidation.

Brusly cops are notorious for being Barney Fife types with itchy trigger fingers. They’re the type to pull you over for going 27 in a 25.

After watching that video, I’m mad as hell. For the kid. I hope the LSP and any other authoritative body prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. They should not only never be cops again, but be in jail for assaulting a minor.

You're a moron.

First of all, you confuse admisability in court with "it doesn't matter at all what the teen admitted"

Second of all you just assume based on a very short video with no audio that dindu was attacked by the police for no reason........

People like YOU are exactly black kids like this kid exist, it's not okay to fight with the cops and nothing justifies it PERIOD.

Ok. Lets start with the Asst Principal who called the police in the first place. Was the student uncontrollable and a danger to the safety of the other students? If so, then the right move was made. This student had evidently been in trouble before, therefore calling the police was the right thing to do at that point. As far as how the child was treated by the police, the audio was not on, so I do not know what transpired. The sad truth, is that now two police officers are out of a job and a career. And as for the student, he was probably back in class today laughing out loud as to how he did not get in trouble. The life of teacher and policeman.

And? The cop is easily 3x the kids size & you can see he had enough force over the kid that he could hold him down at one point with one arm and remove his radio. GTFO.

Watch the video!!!
Officer clearly initiated the physical confrontation and used excess force. The kid admitted to going for the gun while he was getting pummeled by the officer on the ground.

The most alarming thing is that the officer had to do that to control the situation. They are under trained and underpaid. Officers should have mandatory extensive ongoing hand to hand combat at least twice a week. If this were the case the officer would know exactly what was going to happen, wouldn’t have anything to prove, and if it did come down to it he could do it in a manner that was efficient, effective, and professional.
