I’ve never had an issue with them not loading stuff for me. I think once I had to wait a few minutes for an associate to be available to do it, but otherwise they’ve always did it when I’ve asked.

I bought a dryer at Lowes a couple years back and the guy helping me dollied it to my truck and helped me put it in no questions asked. This was pre-pandemic when people actually wanted to work.

I bet they're having a hard time getting decent employees like everyone else.

As you may know, dryers don’t really weigh all that much (150lbs or so) and I knew I could dolly it into my house by myself.

so, you make a point to say that it's really not that heavy and something you can do on your own, then complain that nobody helped you?

Yes…I’m 6’2” 220 and in decent shape.

I imagine lots of folks who actually need the help also get ignored.

call me crazy here...but something tells me that if it was little ol granny buying the appliance instead of an adonis-looking OT poster they probably would have helped her.

The solution is to find what you need at Lowe’s/Home Depot, then go home and order it off of Amazon

They helped me load a mower. Might just be that shitty location.

I rarely get help from Lowes when needed, you have to ask.

You will get all the help you need if you just jump on a forklift and start driving it around.

I've had more help at Lowe's than at Home Depot, but it varies from location to location.

couldn't tell you how many times I've helped people load heavy shite in the Lowes/Home Depot parking lot. It seems like every time I'm there I see somebody struggling to load something.

Same. I was leaving Lowes last year and this older guy had him an exterior door with glass insert sitting on a cart by his tailgate. He was sizing it up on how to load it himself. Watched several people just walk by the old guy before going and helping him load it up. Those exterior doors loaded with windows aren't light.

Lowe’s and HD collectively have the worst customer service. I’ve been in both when I swear there are more employees than customers in the store but none of them want to help, and usually have to whip out their phone to help find anything if so.

I had a girl spend about 30 minutes looking for and helping me find the last boxed grill of a certain kind at Lowes earlier. And then helped me load it, was extremely polite and helpful. Probably a one off but still

Lowes has loaders. It’s a platform that lifts your item to bed height. They will load it into the truck. Every time. You must have not tried very hard to find help

It used to help to know their employees. Back in NOLA after Ward Lumber closed its West Bank store, a lot of the guys went to work for Home Depot. I knew them from Ward, and it was always a pleasure because they were helpful. I miss that kind of help in stores visited more recently
