It's crossed my mind many times that I should be driving my wife's car regularly.
She doesn't drive much and it gets twice if not more than double my mpg.
I even mentioned it to my buddy the other day, but I ended with, frick that, I hate that pussy car.
Unless you’re driving something particularly eye-catching like a Lamborghini, nobody gives a shite.

I paid for a tire rotation for the first time in 20 years the other day and had a few techs come in and compliment the suspension on a truck that looks stock until you are under it
Best I got.

Well sure, people will like certain vehicles. I guess what I meant to say was that nobody is going to look at you one way or the other because of the car you drive. That other guy mentioned he hated his wife’s “pussy car” as if it’s emasculating to drive it. I’m saying nobody is going to think someone is a badass because they drive a truck or that they’re a pussy for driving a small car. Nobody really cares. So there’s no reason to be insecure.

Absofrickinglutely realize that. My position is based solely on my view and perogative.
I drive a 2004 4runner that I absolutely love but I'm distinctly aware isn't turning heads
My wife drives a newer sedan, it's "prettier" than my 4runner, my "pussy" comment was the fact that its got a 2.4 liter non turbo 4 cylinder that is just utterly depressing to drive (imo).
Yeah, I don't give 2 shits what the Jones's think. Just my personal driving preference.

TBH, I'm real tempted to hop into a RAV-4.
Nah I telecommute plus fuel prices rise and fall like water and other utilies, unsuprisingly

Not picking on you Cosmo, but it’s difficult to miss when Obama/Biden’s terms had higher gas prices it was all the rage. Now, it seems like folks are saying “man up if it’s a few extra bucks.”
This is fair, and I agree. However, remember that Biden’s inflation and high gas prices were an intentional decision of his administration, or at a minimum an expected outcome that was chosen “for the greater good”.
I’m talking about shutting down pipelines, restricting oil leases, controlling the finances through global control of money and credit with ESG standards, dumping money on the market with a pent up demand being released after covid, etc.
Trump’s policies are the opposite, with the very notable exception of the war in Iran and the ongoing global oil disruption that it is causing. The outlook for the aftermath is all positive for lower gas prices. This truly does seem to be a temporary situation.
Remember too that all of those who hate Trump in this country and abroad are trying to capitalize on ant-Trump sentiment related to gas prices and are doing what they can to inflate prices to put the blame on Trump.
I’m referring to things like the Lloyds of London bs.

I drive a diesel and it's not fun filling up. 33 gallon tank and 18 mpg. Just glad I get 18. My niece drives a older F350 dually and she gets 8 mpg. I know she's hurting.
I filled up Saturday morning for $145 and that was 28 gallons or so. When gas is $2.50 like it was previously, the price difference is $80 or so.
I don't regret driving it because I do use my truck as an actual truck and tow heavy often enough to justify it. I'm fortunate that the price spike not detrimental to my budget. But it does mean that drivers need to consider scenarios that cause fuel prices to escalate when picking a car especially if the increase makes a material difference in their budget.

100 MPH at the minimum for optimum MPG.

Why do you care?
They wouldn't be driving trucks like that if they worried about gas mileage..

Where we live...it's a great find if you see 4.99 Diesel anywhere. We are closer to 5.15 - 5.20 here. My son's '01 4x4 Super Duty is giving him some early life lessons on budgeting.

Out of curiosity does he actually use the diesel for it's intended purpose or just have it just because? I do miss the days of my 5.7 Tundra at times but the fuel mileage was slightly lower than get now. Diesel wasn't $1 more than gas when I bought this truck, and the difference in price was made up in the better fuel mileage. That is from a fuel cost aspect. Oil changes, fuel filters, DEF and maintenance are all more expensive. DEF is the least of my concerns from a cost perspective though.

He just finished his Sophomore year in Construction Sciences in college and also works >20 hours per week for a construction company. It's rare (but not unheard of) for him to tow things in excess of 10,000 lbs (yes, they even got him his CDL...which is also rare for a 20 year old).

I drove my 23 year-old LX470 to work today. I keep telling my wife...smiles per gallon>miles per gallon. She does not agree, btw.

Thankfully gas is a pretty minor expense for me and my wife. The 18-year-old is the one that uses a lot. A tank of gas lasts me about 3 weeks.

If suburban moms understood this then Ford and GM would be in trouble bc they’d buy minivans instead of Tahoes/Expeditions.
Women actually think people are impressed that they’re driving an SUV instead of a minivan.
