So stupid to halt our economy over this shite.
As of yet, no numbers indicate this is as bad a a horrible season of flu.
More people die from a recession than this. Think about that...recessions kill people
Well, this is still in it’s infancy stage for most of the U.S. China just got ahold of it and they’ve been dealing with it since December. It’s a little early to be thinking this is as bad as it’s going to get here.

Multiple members of GNOR PAC have heard independently that Orleans Parish is about to move to a 'Italy like' lock down due to #COVID?19 .

1) Do you think that means State agencies/buildings are going on lockdown?
Orleans Civil District Court has already taken measures to limit access to the building. The Fifth Circuit is basically preventing anyone from accessing the building and attorneys physically filing pleadings must leave them in a drop box outside. Nearly all employees will be working remotely. As of right now the Fourth Circuit is closed on Monday due to professional cleaning. The judges are meeting Monday and will likely have nearly all personnel work remotely.

Copy away. Please let me know where you find in the Constitution that state governments cannot regulate the sale of alcohol. Since you have so much free time on your hands I'm sure your response will be quick and provide a citation.

Viruses don't work that way. Science is a tricky thing, I know.

so what does this mean? Barricades at all entrances to the state, New Orleans, or elsewhere.
Non-essentiaal buisnses closed
or something else.

So many stories coming out of New Orleans that hospitals are starting to reach capacity, testing is very slow and not many have been tested.
Surprised National media hasn't focused on the mess in New Orleans.

Are we talking all of Louisiana or Nola area?
Like my dtr has to go to Mississippi to get her things from the dorm. I’m so confused.

Per the tweet thread:

Local media isn’t reporting of hospitals reaching capacity.
If she does announce Italy style lockdown NOLA is about to be a shite show for 48 hours.

And roughly 2,500 people died in China. 2,500. The flu kills more Americans every single year.

so what could this mean for air travel into the state?
Posted on 3/15/20 at 2:49 pm to Unknown_Poster
Yeah that won’t work. Many more essential businesses than that. Water, electricity, gas, trash pickup etc
Posted on 3/15/20 at 2:49 pm to catholictigerfan
I’m worried more about interstate travel but I’m being selfish.

We're not talking about, 'you will be arrested if you are found on the street,' we're just talking about the closing of non-essential public/commercial businesses. I don't see why it would prevent your daughter from driving to Mississippi (barring whatever MS does).

I'm assuming public utilities will continue to operate. It's not a place where people mass congregate like a bar.
