Of all the issues we have with traffic, I don’t see this fixing much of anything.

Motorists on I-10 west who want to exit at College Drive now have to cross three lanes to do so, including traffic merging onto I-10 from I-12 west.
it's not really that hard, you get like 1 mile to cross 3 lanes. I see this causing more congestion at corporate where drivers still struggle to merge, get in the turning lane onto corporate.

A service road from college to essen is 100% more feasible

In my 17 years of driving in Baton Rouge, i never had an issue with this, and i've done it hundreds of times.

That money could be spent on much more needed road projects along I-10.

I can't wait until they do the new bridge but when everyone gets across to Baton Rouge the current infrastructure won't be able to handle the capacity

The infrastructure in west Baton Rouge seems like the bigger issue. They’re gonna build a new bridge and the intercostal is gonna collapse

It doesn't involve anything on that stretch. It's going to be built mostly within the existing I-10 right of way near the Marriott.

But can we still beg the state to destroy those shitholes anyway?

Or a connector between Perkins and Corporate between College and Essen.

That is elevated and has no commercial development or stops on it. Just a quick, nonstop connector between the two to relieve College and Essen.

I went to an open meeting by DOTD at the River Center and put that idea on the table.

This makes me think there still is a place for the little guy out there to get involved.

I’ve thought the same thing, but I would extend it to Jefferson and connect it to Hennessey too.

So you're the arse we need to kick when this 3 years of construction fricks up traffic for 6 years to build a solution we should've done in the construction 12 years ago?
