It wasnt just that game even though it seemed worse than usual. And not even isolated to the tailgate areas. In the stadium and on the ramps. I mean com on man. Im not a prude and partake myself on occation but do you think blazing in a crowd is some type of flex?

Its lame.

Because threatening to lock someone in a cage for a year while simultaneously stripping them of a host of constitutional rights doesn’t even approach being commensurate with the “crime” of smoking marijuana within 2,000 feet of a school campus.

And I don’t smoke, you ad hominem reliant douchebag

I have tailgated at LSU for over 40 years now (yeah I’m old so what) and the amount of skunk weed smell on campus since the COVID era is astounding. Look of you can’t go a few hours without smoking your stink weed you meed to reassess your life. The vast majority of the population does not want to breathe in nor smell your problem.

I've been going to LSU football games for over 30 years. I've lost count of how many times my experience was worsened because of drunk fricks.

Well they used to go to jail if they smoked it anywhere so I consider it letting them off easy to ask them to not do it on campus.

And yes it is a crime. No need to put quotations around it.

Dumb and illogical.

So, it's ok to get hammered with alcohol at LSU games but smoking weed is a felony? Make it make sense.

And how many of those years were firearms discharged on campus that could have killed people?

Oh that’s right. 1. And what surrounded those shots? A thick cloud of marijuana smoke.

It was a misdemeanor, not a felony.

Weed is trashy and causes people to bring firearms on campus and shoot up tailgates.

It’s a direct correlation when you plot out marijuana usage with increase in tailgate shoot outs

In 2015 when they REDUCED penalties first offense possession was 15 days in jail.

So I am correct

College kids have been smoking marijuana on college campuses since time immemorial. Can you say with a straight face that you actually think marijuana causes people to bring firearms on campus, or is this really about trying to make sure certain types of people who like marijuana stay away from campus.

Because on the extreme off chance this passes, I’m looking forward to a state senator’s kid catching a felony arrest for smoking weed in his dorm room.

Yea man you're right. It's definitely weed smoking that is causing people to shoot guns at tailgates and not the fact that LSU's campus is located 50 feet from the fricking ghetto.

I would have way more respect for the people who support a law like this if they just came out and said what they meant instead of pretending smoking weed is driving people to commit attempted murder.

Raise the fine and enforce the law. Jail for this is BS.

You’re only “correct” if your point is nonsensical. In response to my noting that a year in jail plus loss of rights isn’t commensurate, you said that you used to be able to go to jail for smoking it anywhere, so this being on a campus seems like letting them off easy.

Put another way, saying “smoking marijuana anywhere used to be a misdemeanor that carried up to six months, so making smoking marijuana on campuses a felony is letting them off easy!” makes absolutely zero sense.

Bill text.

So vaping hemp derivatives is okay?

If you tax it so high that the black market can substantially undercut the price, most people will vote with their pocketbook. There’s a reason we don’t have insanely high taxes on alcohol.
