Because it's above 32 degrees about 800 feet above the ground. This cold arctic air is going to be extremely shallow.

Extremely cold and no snow.

During the cold snap a couple of years ago it got down to 11 in my area.

1. Busted pipe. When letting things drip remember the toilets. If they are not running they will freeze too.

2. Washing machine drain froze. Backed up all over the utility room and turned into a sheet of ice because the floor was below freezing.

3. Woke up at 3 AM with my horn going off. The cold had somehow caused the circuit to close. Had to go out and disconnect the battery.

At least we didnt have any precip.

That map actually shows temps ranging from 8 to 6F from LC to BR.

I don't think thats accumulation, just what has fallen. From what I see, its showing 1/4" ice buildup.

I really wouldn't know what to do if it is 4 degrees. Do cars still start?

Yes, they start.

What do you mean keep toilets running? Keep flushing it all night over and over?

I had that happen to me in college in Lafayette around 97. I lived in an apartment so others got to enjoy it as well

What kind of pipe burst? Metal or not?

Y'all were using the washing machine when it froze and backed up?

It shouldn’t. 1/4” of ice here is apparently absolutely crippling.
