The problem isn't just my sloth though, it's also that it's going to be a lot of "IDK, somewhere in the SE".

The trigger for a deeper look is when we get a little better agreement overall on the timing and extent of cold air. It's getting there but without that detail being more certain, all I can offer is what will happen but not the where or the when (you know, the questions everyone else has too).

For Dallas specifically? Well the EPS has 49/50 members showing snow for Dallas (Addison) with the mean being 3". The spread is pretty vast, between just a trace and 10". Every single GFS ensemble member has snow for Dallas and a mean of 5".

Feeling pretty certain Dallas gets some snow and maybe some ice early next week based on that. The question for you is more about the precipitation type and just how cold it gets.

There's still having to hedge some on temperature, take that only as increasing confidence in precip come Monday night.

The GFS has been pretty consistent calling for ice/sleet Monday night into Tuesday. The Euro is also beginning to show agreement with this also. Should have a better feel for the forecast in the next 48 hours

They were pretty bearish on below freezing until yesterday. Now they are warming up to the lower temps the models are showing

If Monday plays out, I have no doubt my jackass “old school” employers will make us come in even though I work from home 40% of the time pre COVID

I hope they wait one more day so I can get an H-E-B run in before it’s a war zone

Typically yeah, but this isn't just a one and done deal. We're gonna be trapped in arctic air til March. Precip pushing from saturday to monday isn't unusual.
