frick Entergy. We shouldn't need rolling blackouts in a developed country. Not to mention, it's happening in areas that weren't even affected by this stupid winter storm.

Weather experts, help me out. Regarding Denham, BR, WBR. My phone app is showing rising temps tomorrow and rain. All good as far as icy roads go. But, it shows rain and lows in the 20s for Thrusday night and Friday night. We looking at bad road conditions Friday and Saturday morning, I'm assuming?

No, the rain will stop well in advance of the freezing temps this time.

Whichever 621 is on all around Sno’s. It might be all of Airline and 621 there.
Gotta be Entergy then. I used to live in Angele Estates off 621 and I had Entergy then.

What area will have blackouts from entergy? We still are out at home with Demco but staying at inlaws tonight with entergy and headed to my office first thing in get am with entergy. Sure as hope they don’t do that shite at my office. Place has virtually zero insulation.

I know someone trying to get from Lafayette to Houma on 90 this evening. From what I see on 511la.org, it looks okay. Might take you longer than I-10, but it is an alternate. I will try to update once I know if they had any issues.
Update - they decided not to travel this evening for other reasons. I still think it should be okay on 90 from Laffy to NOLA except for late morning and afternoon cold rain.

It stands to reason that if it rains and any water remains on the roads, that water will freeze with temps in the 20s. Will every road have problems? No. Wind will help dry some roads. Efforts to deice roads will continue. That said, puddles, shaded areas, places where water may drain across a road, etc. can and will be sketchy. Local news/DOT should have updated road conditions.
Also, elevated portions and bridges will still have problems. Freezing fog the morning after the rain may develop, as well.

UPDATE REGARDING ROLLING OUTAGES:
Mandatory rolling outages that began at 7 p.m. have ended for now, and we have returned the system to normal operations. All customers affected by this directive were restored by 9 p.m.
Thank you for your patience and your voluntary conservation of power as we work through this difficult situation. The company took this action at the direction of our reliability coordinator, the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, as a last resort to prevent a more extensive, prolonged power outage that could severely affect the reliability of the power grid. All Entergy operating companies, as well as other members of MISO, participated in the outages.
We continue to face challenges related to the cold temperatures, so please be mindful of your electricity usage to help prevent the need for any additional forced outages. We’re not out of the woods yet, so please continue to conserve energy.

The US has moved away from the base load energy practice to a feel good solar/wind model. If you let the professional engineers run this you will not freeze in the dark. Simple decision.

HWY90 westbound before getting to Morgan City is shut down

We left Florida panhandle around 5pm today to head back to Baton Rouge and didn’t encounter any problems/ice. There was a little ice around the Airline exit on I12 but that’s where you have to exit anyway. We exited there and took old Hammond to Jefferson to get home. Baton Rouge looks like Elsa got mad at her sister.

Forecast says it will be 50 degrees here by 3:00pm tomorrow afternoon. That's with an overnight warming trend that ain't gonna happen. It is going to be cloudy all day tomorrow. What are the odds that the forecast is bullshite, and we'll be lucky to crawl to 35 degrees before the rain gets here tomorrow evening?
FWIW the weather app says it is 25 in Madisonville but my little weather station says 23. It's going to be as fricking cold tonight as it was last night.

Probably so, but then again we laughed at them when they acted like "superstorm" Sandy was Katrina 2.0.
