And here we go! Thunder snow just woke me up. I never thought that I’d experience that.

Slemco only reporting about 20 customers without power in St Landry Parish. It doesn’t look like we had much freezing rain. Probably a little at first. Mostly sleet and snow.
Cleco is the same right now. Hopefully it stays that way.

Let me know if you change to snow. I’m talking big, fat flakes, not a few flurries mixed with the sleet. I believe the sleet snow line is roughly from Ringgold to Many to the south end of Toledo Bend. This is pushing steadily to the east, and I’m just trying to verify what radar is showing. I know it’s all snow in Shreveport. If we can change to snow for a few hours before this ends, it’ll be quite the winter wonderland. Not that it isn’t already. If I’m right on this, I would expect a change to snow in Alexandria around 7:00-7:30. That could mean 2-3 inches of snow on top of all this sleet.

Thundersnow is no joke. It's more than likely positive lightning strikes, which will rock your world.

This is some intense precip and the thundersleet confirms that

We had pea sized sleet pellets for a few minutes.

No power outages yet. The power being out for 10 days after Laura might turn out to be a good thing. Brand new lines and poles are holding up.

Texas is going to have to borrow capacity from Mexico again. We're down 20K MW since midnight.

Power out in Houston since 5am. 18 degrees, feel like 1 degree, snowing pretty good

Seems like everything is West of BR... I’m seeing I-12 already has a couple wrecks. They’re not sayin it’s iced over though. Tryin to make the call about going to work.

definitely never seen a torrential downpour of sleet before like what's happening right now... then again I spent the vast majority of my life in NOLA so I wouldn't expect to

So are you saying this was over sensationalized and another model swing and a miss? Woke up in Saint Amant and my outside thermometer still shows 33 bit in the 20s like was predicted. I will take a positive outcome just hate the excess hype.
