Cardinals, finches, sparrows, couple of doves, and a metric shite ton of blac birds are waging Jihad on my bird feeders. Rolling thru my 40# bag of black oil sunflower seeds.
I usually have them. I have a bunch of Bluebirds because I have a lot of boxes for them. All I've seen today is the woodpecker and a couple of hawk-sized crows that set up house keeping across the road last year. Even the sorry assed Starlings aren't out and about.

Nothing in CenLa yet, except a few power flickers. It's not even sleeting or snowing yet and the power is flickering. Not a good sign.

I'm supposedly on the same power grid as the city's utilities director... so guess who's getting power up 1st if there is an outage?

Fairly certain LSU consults and leans on Jay Grimes which would explain their obtusness

The brown headed cowbirds are out by the hundreds. My 11 year old is waging war

friendly reminder to everyone...
511la.org is where you can look at the state's entire traffic camera network... so if you want to see what the weather conditions are in... say... Baton Rouge... just go there and pull up one of their cameras

Lucky you
Edit: Luckily though, a lot of local baws work as lineman so they usually get out pretty quick trying to get power back on, presumably to keep their wives happy.

Aren't you near the fire department, too?

I am... but I'm told the fire station is actually on a different grid than me

In 2014 they tried to keep I-10 bridge open but stopped trying when they had trucks sliding back down.
Ha! Husband and I just had an argument about this--- He believes it's do-able, and I said absolutely not.
So nope, not happening, but anyone who wants to give it a go- knock yourself out. Enjoy the ride when you start sliding back down, pray no one is coming, and hope the car does not spin.

Last I saw he was on his Facebook page arguing with people over the correct spelling of his last name and also how Baton Rouge will not get down to a record low because the record low has only happened once

If you are right near fire department you aren’t in same grid as Marcotte I don’t think.
There are three different feeds into west point at a minimum

When I was moving in some more firewood earlier I noticed that there was an unGodly amount of purple birdshit over everything in sight. They must really be getting after their last minute meals
