If you think DOGE is finding (waste, fraud and kickbacks), let them dig into Louisiana politics
Example: NEW ORLEANS -- Sewerage & Water Board Executive Director Cedric Grant will retire Nov. 30 and begin to pull in $175,401 a year for the rest of his life from the agency's pension system as he leaves under a cloud of controversy.

What do national congressman have to do with state tax regimes?

got low property taxes, gas prices, energy, and COL. Insurance is high south if I-10. Feel like it is pretty average financially to live here compared to the rest of the country.

It’s not, but I’m glad you “feel” that way

The map takes into account sales tax. But not income tax, car tax, city income tax, among many other possible taxes.

I think with NIL you are going to see more states lower income tax and increase sales tax.

Congrats you move from last to 40th when you factor all that in

Most states are filled with retards, but this would be on brand for Louisiana

I fully expect this is why LA lowered income tax and raised sales tax. You don't think coaches in FL, TN, etc are using the no income tax as a way to convince athletes to go to their university instead of going to LSU?

I'm sorry, what? At least everyone gets to enjoy sales taxes. Why increase taxing something you've already bought year after year? Property taxes are already a ludicrous idea. Yet you want more.
Why is it that no one understands this? People with low end houses pay ZERO property tax. If they were paying something then everyone else wouldn't have to pay so much.

Ranked #13 in total COL across the country. So yes, it is cheaper to live here than the average. Sorry you are unhappy.

COL is not how high your taxes are. So what’s your point?

You just randomly brought up taxes because your previous comment was proven incorrect. I simply commented that yes while Louisiana has high sales tax, they have lower property taxes and state income tax. This paired with a low COL makes Louisiana a relatively average place to live financially. Are you not good at reading or just stupid?

Idk how much shite I purchase every year for sales tax but am glad they lowered / flattened the income tax. At least they giving us a reach around.

I moved out of LA the day after my last final exam (Psych 1001 because my advisor was an idiot) and flew back for graduation. I’m in the Free State of Florida and my kids have a good future. Louisiana is a corrupt disgrace and will continue to spiral down and the bread and circuses will disappear.
