They then came back and said that their Phase 4 is after the conclusion of the state’s Phase 3.
Really? I didn't see that. Well LA isn't moving to Phase 3 anytime soon and I can't imagine we will ever get out of Phase 3.

Not one person who has kids playing sports under the LHSAA is surprised.

Football wasn’t going to happen in August. Ultimately, that is the governor’s call. But the LHSAA could not send out a clear communication to the public if their lives depended on it.

Bonine’s calendar release last week was comically embarrassing.

There has never been a “Phase 4” under the LHSAA. It has never been referenced in a single document. Bonine said “Phase 4” during a conference two weeks ago and had coaches and ADs across the State scratching their heads. He came back and “clarified” that the LHSAA Phase 4 is at the conclusion of the state’s Phase 3.

As long as the hospitals beds aren’t maxed out then everyone should be able to decide for themselves if they want to go to a game, bar, class, gym, etc.

All of my daughter’s LSU classes were switched to online a couple weeks ago. But LSU is still going forward with moving kids into the dorm.

I wonder how parents and/or students paying out of state tuition are feeling right now. They’re just getting online classes for their money.

Just seems like it would be relatively easy pass a bill allowing restaurants and bars to stay open at regular capacity so they don’t all close for good.

JBE has the most power of any governor in the country. Any going against him like that is a good way to have all road construction pulled from your district.

I know this isn't PT board, but CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION is the only answer.

I think it can be better stated this way...

If we are under any emergency shutdown orders that limit capacity, we aren't playing HS football games.

If we get to 75% capacity, we will be able to practice football.

The vast majority of Louisiana high school football programs are currently working out/practicing without pads right now.

Just be aware, there is a different phase system for LHSAA than for the state. They confused the hell out of people by saying something about LHSAA wanting to be in phase 4 to start football.

Thanks

I was one of those people, I had no clue where Phase 4 was coming from

99.99% of these kids will not be sick or will never show symptoms. Even fewer would transmit to a coach or teacher.

e are clearly past our peak now. No reason to think we wont be phase 3 after Labor Day.

Well no reason other than our governor who is tailoring his response to maximize fed money

I'm by no means a conspiracy theorist but it's funny how just before an announcement from JBE, we have a huge backlog of tests reporting that span several weeks, if not months, making it look like we are still having 1000s of new positives weekly.

High schoo won't start till oct 8
College will start 26

...

If college football does happen in what world can they cancel high school? And what would be the reasoning?

Exactly. He’s managed to come up with different versions of phase 2 the past couple months
