The LHSAA football regular season is tentatively set to kickoff on Oct. 8-10 a source tells FOX 8 Sports.

The LHSAA is planning for an eight-game regular season. The playoffs will be extended possibly until January.

The season was originally scheduled to start the week of Sept. 3-5.

The LHSAA needs to get to Phase 3 in order to start the prep football season. Governor John Bel Edwards said the state will continue with Phase 2 until at least Aug. 28.

Which Ph 3? It's my understanding the LHSAA has their own phases to prevent certain death.

Just be aware, there is a different phase system for LHSAA than for the state.
They confused the hell out of people by saying something about LHSAA wanting to be in phase 4 to start football.

LHSAA has said that their phase 4 is the federal phase 3.

We are clearly past our peak now. No reason to think we wont be phase 3 after Labor Day.

Well no reason other than our governor who is tailoring his response to maximize fed money

I still don’t understand why the legislature can’t/won’t move us forward. Shouldn’t they have more power than a single executive?

Mr. Berry is going to have major depression if the SEC doesn’t move forward as planned. Seriously.

I’m afraid they’re going to start, then experience a COVID “spike”, then shut down.

Louisiana's governor is the most powerful in the nation. Abbott in Texas is a figurehead in comparison.

So 50,000 people can go watch LSU play in late september, but the high schools cant play until Oct 8th?

I am bit confused as to what/who are we protecting.

Just seems like it would be relatively easy pass a bill allowing restaurants and bars to stay open at regular capacity so they don’t all close for good.

They then came back and said that their Phase 4 is after the conclusion of the state’s Phase 3.

As it stands right now, there will be no football competition between opposing schools until Louisiana is out of Phase 3.

The LHSAA blundered this.

Not one person who has kids playing sports under the LHSAA is surprised.
