If this state had half a brain Dr. Abraham would have been elected. It was insanely obvious he was the best choice but all the SLA idiots had the "He is just dumb NLA hick" bs.

Well in theory, you’re going to get a bunch of $20k sales tax payments. Plus the gas that’s sold, plus the other operating costs of having the boat registered and docked in the state.

Those boats burn diesel, not gas

And off road diesel is already tax free

I’m not a fuels tax expert, but it’s my understanding that dyed diesel is still subject to the motor fuels tax no?

I just said, off road diesel is tax exempt, that goes for boats and farm equipment

And all Shane has to do is charge all his fuel and groceries to one of his Supply Boats and everything is tax exempt

From sales tax, I asked about motor fuels tax, which is a completely different excise tax

I assume it's worked into the price

Will affect <200 citizens of Louisiana is my estimate.
Many of these boats are documented so exempt from registration anyway if I recall. Releasing this photo op and giddy up story from an 82 Viking is extremely poor optics by the Guvner.
I’m actually disappoint that someone with this guys pocketbook is slumming it instead of pimping a Bayliss.

How pricey of a boat for this to matter?

Sure this looks terrible but it doesn’t take much boat to reach 200k. A used 37’ Freeman will run 400k+

200k fishing boat in south LA is more common than people think. I know a few groups of people who own offshore boats they split costs on.

A 28ft Contender is gonna run @220k.

What? Off-road diesel is exempt from excise tax. That’s the entire point of buying off-road diesel.
