Some dude was on here the other day saying it was going to be America’s next great city. It was pretty funny.
It's a nice town. But the Chamber of Commerce puffery needs to be kept to a reasonable level (and we need The University of Acadiana NOW)

One thing we may argue amongst ourselves but we don’t like outsiders even more. Especially queers and steers from Oklahoma.

I don't think there is any legit hate except for everyone else hates New Orleans. It's a hippie shite hole. I jump on the Alexandria and Funroe jokes but it's not near as bad in my mind.

Louisiana should be the best state in the union.

No state pride is exactly correct. Do you think people in East TX despise people in El Paso? No because a Texan is a Texan. Too bad people in LA don’t see it that way. I feel like a lot of this hate is one sided though. I have never heard of Monroe folks bashing Houma or LC because they’re different.

There is definitely a resentment from Laffy toward BR. And it's not new -- I saw it as a high schooler in the '80s.

Haha people love to bash those NLA people but when we have a NLA kid killing it at LSU nobody bats an eye at NLA. See Devin White.

It is like siblings, they might hate each other, but let and outsider come in to attack them and watch all the siblings unite...

There are three names on that sign that are literally the only good things about this city. So, I guess you're technically right.

God, Ferriday is such a shithole.

Also, Mickey Gilley was born in Natchez, not Ferriday.

For as small as it is, Louisiana has an incredibly diverse population. Your perception is spot on although the division is more ethnic and religious as opposed to cities.

Pittsburgh and Philthydelphia don't care for each other. And there's tension between the two big cities and the "T".

A man goes through that godforsaken city once and never forgives the city. That we picked Ferriday to shite on over Vidalia kinda tells you something, doesn't it?

At least Vidalia has a Comfort Inn located near the convention center.

Seriously. There's a picture of it on Vidalia's Wikipedia page.

EDIT: Correction. Comfort SUITES!

It’s pretty much secure v. insecure people.

Explains the OT as well.

North Louisiana and South Louisiana is probably the most noticeable division, but it's pretty much two completely different make-ups. South Louisiana is mostly Catholic and where the cajuns are.. North Louisiana is mostly Baptist and the majority of the rednecks in the state are up there.

The far west part of the state is pretty much an extension of Texas. There are 8 parishes considered "Florida Parishes" because they were once part of Florida. So yeah, I would say there is division within the state, to some degree.

There’s just as many rednecks in South LA as north LA. Just because they’re catholic and talk different doesn’t mean they aren’t rednecks right? I don’t have anything against either I’m just saying. Let’s not pretend backwoods isn’t backwoods
