They did. Not in the beginning, because that was before it was a known problem. Similarly, no one thought canceling Mardi Gras was even remotely necessary.
thanks...that was my point

People keep blaming NOLA for all this but it is pretty clear that the reason NOLA is the hot spot is bc of Mardi Gras when thousands of people from all around the world descended on NO right at the time the virus was making its way to the US. Are we mad that NO didn’t cancel Mardi Gras??
as well as the ski resorts in Colorado....why didnt Colorado cancel ski season?
Not only to people from out of state and/or country venture into Louisiana for Mardi Gras, but how many Louisiana families leave the state during the Mardi Gras break (e.g., go ski, go to Disney)?
Those are potential vectors coming back into the state after air travel at the same time.

LSU Vet school started running test today I believe so they will come back in 1 day instead of 4-5 days.
Ochsner also now has the ability to test in-house. Depending on the number of test a day, Ochsner facilities in New Orleans, BR, and Lafayette should now get same day or next day results.

When do 300 million get infected?

Look at the numbers without NOLA. That whole shithole should be quarantined!

They have to get CLIA certified first and the tests that they have performed prior to their certification are null and void! We started sending them samples this past Friday and thru the weekend. As of Sunday they still weren't certified.

Turnaround on the new test kits is 4 hours, big improvement
Plus they test with 96 well plates. 3 wells/patient plus QC and ur looking at about 20 patient results in those 4 hours.

Wife is working with the Dr that went to Vet school. A lot of the state results were thrown out and patients will have to be retested. Just blows my mind how inept our govt is, and they get pissed when you circumvent their shitty systems for something quicker and more reliable.

The number of tests performed is relevant. And if the numbers from Italy are the result of the same or more tests than Louisiana; then the Louisiana numbers are extremely troubling.
If you don't understand the cultural, demographic, and population density difference between Louisiana and Italy then you are way too stupid and uneducated to have a valid opinion on any of this. Go join deltaland in playing in traffic.

Why are you hillbillies always so angry? If the number of tests are exactly the same and Louisiana has higher numbers across a significantly smaller population then no amount of cultural or demographic variables would matter.
