I wonder how many hours they've spent outlining what they can define as a covid death.

I bet there's been meetings where John Bel has screamed at people to get his point across on how to code according to his bidding.

(Title has May 26 -- should be May 27. Some may skip past this and think it's not updated)

Thanks yet again for keeping this. Wish anyone who is in a position to do something would care.

For the record, those who tested negative at the facility where I consult were all swabbed yesterday and results are pending. Not swabbing any of those who tested positive unless they show symptoms again.

Admits must have two negative swabs before being allowed in to the facility. New admits will have to quarantine in their room for 14 days.

ALL are still eating in their rooms. We've had a ton of weight losses -- some refusing to eat. We've had some seem to go off of the deep end that weren't really behavior issues before. Sad state. Not sure I can ever go back when I'm finally allowed back in.

Wonderful numbers. That ain’t much of a 3 day weekend dump.

Total Deaths over last 5 days— 72

Total Deaths over last 5 days before that— 120

Hospitalizations have been cut in half over last 4 weeks

Largest new case # and Test % combination since 5/14, but the -33 in hospitaliations and -3 on ventilators is nothing but good news to take from that.

ETA: I'd argue today was very similar to 5/22 data wise

Well, if you want to believe JBE, then NO they're NOT being added. He said that at a presser last week -- Wednesday maybe?

My Grandpa is gaining weight, it’s probably from all the junk food I drop off

My heart hurts so bad for those that don’t understand what’s going on, for those whose only joy was seeing their family members

We are running out of bed space. Pour another $100 million into the convention center

Well this makes me happy ... I'm seriously considering perhaps not going back when I'm actually able to. It's depressing enough PRIOR to this but shite it's going to be worse without my "favorites" not there and just in general. I've done it for 12 years and wanted to retire when our daughter graduates from college but maybe now is the time. My husband doesn't care either way and would honestly probably prefer if I don't go back "in case" I would get sick. I'm not even worried about that.

If he said that, good. This is a sound decision.

Can you continue to work from home?
I couldn’t work in a nursing home, too many sad situations.

Not sure — state regs say I have to be in the home 8 hours a month —- that’s all that is “technically“ required. I tend to work 40+ (less now as our census is half) — I do plan to ask my administrator (he’s not my boss) and my boss if they’d be ok with it. I could go in a couple of hours each week to see residents and do the rest from home.

At this rate it’ll be July or August I’m guessing before I’ll be allowed in.

I’ve been there for 12 years like I’ve said — only two residents have been there longer than I have. One is now on hospice. I always joked that when the last original to my time was gone I’d retire. I do hate to think of someone replacing me and not caring though like I do. It’s more than just paperwork for me and that is part of my issue.

Keep sending treats to your grandfather — I never care what they eat as long as they’re not losing weight. Sad I know but at age 94 they better not take my chips away.
