Still no zombies, so we've got that going for us, which is nice.

Anyone in contact with public must wear masks
Encouraging public to wear masks
Practice social distancing & hygiene
710 new cases
Actually said some results are weeks old

I appreciate JBE for actually noting this in his press conference.

Progress across state is not even
More work to do
People need to focus on work we have to do & stay home
Talking about what he learned at West Point

This "pivot" from "overwhelming health-care" to a pseudo-scientific moralization about the "untold lives" that need to be saved is preposterous.

Yep.
Credit him for acknowledging this and not restarting the clock. Still target date of May 15, he says.

Why do they not update the numbers in the dates taken?

But I can’t have someone stand behind me & cut my hair

So they’re using a 3-day rolling average of new cases to make their reopening of the state, while admitting that there are labs reporting cases WEEKS late
And these are the experts.
And I’m the dumb one according to Jayce.

He will be yelling about everyone needing to stay home, while at the same time lieing about businesses that didn’t have to close.
Somebody needs to ask Honor Chode how is he getting fricking haircuts if we are supposed to be social distancing.

Obviously, Orleans needs to set up checkpoints to keep Metairie and Baton Rouge infected peeps out.

If we are following the WH plan then why aren’t we at a Phase 1?
We are never going to see #’s go down if they continue to ramp up testing

Did anyone catch what he said about what was needed to get to phase 1?
Had to take a call

We aren't following them.

Proposed State or Regional Gating Criteria
Downward trajectory of influenza-like
illnesses (ILI) reported within a 14-day period
AND
Downward trajectory of COVID-like
syndromic cases reported within a 14-day
period
This is how the recommendation is written. It does not require every region to be on the downward trajectory. Not only are they lying about the trajectory of each region, they are lying about using the White House guidelines.

State meets guideline >> Find which Region does not
All Regions meet guideline >> Find which parishes do not (we are here)
When all parishes meet the guideline >> Find which hospitals do not.

Region 8 spike is going to be a result of the tornado that hit a economically depressed area of Monroe on April 12. All those folks with homes destroyed or damaged have been moved to a nearby hotel for temporary housing. There is no way that many people confined in a hotel are practicing safe measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
